Oh How I LOVE My Kitchen...Now!!!!!!

I am doing the happy dance!! I was going to wait until tomorrow to post this, but I am so excited I just couldn't wait to show you all.
I am in love with my kitchen!!! I love the New Venetian Gold granite...I'm so glad that I didn't go with black Uba Tuba granite. The whole kitchen turned out even better than I imagined!! I wish I had it looking like this for the past 16 years that we've lived here! Oh well...better late than never!!

We still have to do the following before it is truly complete;

1. install the tumbled marbled backsplash
2. paint trim around upper cabinet by sink
3. touch up paint
4. install light switch/outlet covers
5. trim out undercabinet lighting
6. install knobs on lower cabinet doors

Just to remind you......this is how our kitchen use to look:

This looked better in person...I promise. I never showed you this photo because I was too embarased.

Now take a look at the updated kitchen!

Hubby built this pedestal/bookcase for the breakfast nook.
Beadboard on the sides and on the inside of the back of the shelves.

Here are the rattan chairs I recently bought for the breakfast nook. Oh and of course, can't forget the "Farmer's Market" sign that I made.
Here's the basket I bought at a garage sale a couple weeks ago.

Even my monogrammed towel that my friend Laura made for me looks great in my new kitchen!
Beadboard was added to the sides of all the cabinets...and check out those sexy cabinet feet!

I added this pretty detail to this sink cabinet.
LOVE my new cafe brown silgranit sink...it's huge!
This is my Price Pfister Marielle Stainless Steel Faucet, sprayer, and soap dispenser.
You can see a sample of the tumbled marble listello that will go at the bottom of the backsplash. Then a brick patterned tumbled marble will be placed all the way up to the bottom of the top cabinets. Hope to get that started this weekend.
Excuse the blue painter's tape...still painting the trim hubby just installed.

Love the baskets, so handy and adds visual interest.
More baskets for otherwise hard to reach area.

Here's a close up of my venetian Gold Granite

Hope you enjoyed your tour! I'll be sure to show you when we have the backsplash installed and all the little things that we need to complete.

Now you'll have to excuse me.....I need to go make some brownies in my beautiful new kitchen!! I think they will even taste better in my new kitchen!!

GORGEOUS!!!!!

And I love that sink -- Color, style, size -- please let us know how it is to maintain; does your water spot at all? I have a little trouble with water spotting on dark surfaces.

but wow -- what a transformation. Stunning! Enjoy it ... every inch of it!

It is wonderful!!! The wall color is very close the what I used in my breakfast nook - I love the feet on the cabinets and the beadboard. Granite looks mighty fine! Looking forward to seeing the finishing touches!

It's amazing! I just love all you've done! Your kitchen has gone from drab to FAB! Did you paint the cabinets yourself or hire it done? I guess I can check in your back posts for the answer!

Your kitchen looks wonderful. The green walls are just a little lighter than my bedroom. Love it. Can't wait to paint my cabinets white. Love your idea of leaving cabinte doors off and putting baskets instead.

Hey, darlene, I know JUST how you feel right now! Congrats on the new granite, it looks fabulous & that little breakfast area is the neatest thing ever. How clever to put granite on that, it just adds to your kitchen so much. Love that sign you made & your kitchen really has gotten a big facelift. Enjoy! I know I sure am enjoying mine. And I think I'll have to get some feet for my cabinets too. Love those!
