Garage Sale Treasures

My hubby and I LOVE going to garage/yard sales! It is "our thing" we do every saturday morning spring & summer. It's like a treasure hunt to us. Here are the treasures we found this weekend...

My mother in law bought me one of these vintage wear-ever cookie guns several years ago and it reminded me of making christmas cookies as a little girl with one my mom had. I love it! Now my daughters have the same memories. They love making cookies with this! I bought my 23 yr old daughter a battery operated cookie press gun last christmas and she said it didn't work good.....so when I found this I snapped it up for her. I think I'll surprise her with it around the holidays this year. Paid $5 for it at our local flea market.

Found this christmas tree at the Salvation Army for $4. I plan on painting the urn a creamy white and dressing up the tree for my bedroom during Christmas.

Now on to my FAVORITE find!!! I have seen such great makeovers on vintage barrel cane chairs, so I was delighted to find these at a garage sale. They were marked $15 each, but we got them for $7.50 each because there was a broken section (which is fixable)

I am thinking of having them reupholstered in a tan linen looking fabric or maybe a cool aqua color...not quite sure yet. They are pretty comfortable! May use them in my sitting room/office which is off of my bedroom.

I'll be sure to show you how they look after the makeover.

I'm linking up with Thrifty Treasures at Southern Hospitality blog, so please go check out all the other treasures people have found!

A Wintery Spring Break

Hi Friends!
Just thought I would share some of our spring break vacation to Keystone, Colorado.
You can click on photos to see them BIGGER.

I was able to cross some things off my bucket list, like dog sledding, snow mobiling, and even just having a winter vacation.
We didn't have much of a winter this year, so I was ready to have a snowy vacation!

This is me being a musher and it was soooooo much fun! I LOVED it!!

My 15 yr old daughter with the Siberian Huskeys. They were sweet dogs!

Hubby with the leaders of the sled!

Family pic of the 3 of us (our oldest daughter who is 23 is married now and couldn't get off work to come with us) We allowed our 15 yr old daughter to bring a friend so she would have someone her age to have fun with.

This one dog always rolled onto his back everytime we stopped for a break. LOL!

The dogs would bury their heads in the snow to cool off after running.

Awe!

Some pics of frozen lakes

Now onto snow mobiling........

We snow mobiled up to the continental divide. It was 11,400 ft in elevation.

Signed the girls up for a day of ski school. Hubby & I decided to not ski...didn't want to break anything at our age! LOL

Did you do anything for spring break??
