Our Days Agenda

Hubby & I are redecorating our daughter's bedroom for her 20th birthday. She told me the color scheme she wants & the look that she is going for. I then showed her photos of what I thought was the look she desired to make sure we were on the same page. She will be moving out of her bedroom and into little sister's room so that we can work on her room and keep it a surprise...kinda like they do on HGTV. We did the same thing for our other daughter's birthday last January. We had fun doing it & she loved it! I'll show pics soon of that room redo. Anyway, today we have lots of work to do on the room. Hubby is building a bench I designed for the room & has to paint the crown moulding that he just installed. I have to finish priming her armoire & start painting it black. If there is time left in the day, I would like to make some of our favorite fall cookies...Old Fashioned Soft Pumpkin Cookies! They are soooooooo yummy!

Here's the recipe if you want to try them: (let me know if you do & how much you enjoyed them...I'm sure you will!!)

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
1 cup 100% Pure Pumpkin
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Glaze (recipe follows)
Directions:PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheets.
COMBINE flour, baking soda, baking power, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in medium bowl. beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until well blended. Beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.
BAKE for 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Drizzle Glaze over cookies.
FOR GLAZE:COMBINE 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in small bowl until smooth.
NOTES: For a variation add 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts to the recipe

Bon Appetit!

Yay! I can leave a comment now.
Your home looks beautiful all decorated for fall. And those pumpkin cookies look so yummy!

I got one of my big acorns at JoAnn's, one came from a boutique, and a matching one came from a thrift store. I don't know if that helps you at all.
