We have soffits above our cabinets that could not be removed and she has soffits too. She painted her beadboard the same color as her soffits to bring the color down...visually I think that was a great idea!
I'm thinking maybe I should do the same thing and bring the SW clary sage color down from the soffits to the future beadboard backsplash and then add about 6" high of tumbled marble. By the way the counters will either be dark butcherblock or granite...not sure yet.
So, please vote on what I should do:
A. Add beadboard painted SW Clary Sage and tumbled marble (like Tara's)
B. Add full backsplash of tumbled marble
C. Other (let me know your idea)
Thanks! Oh and don't forget to go check out Tara's blog Blondie 'N' SC she is a great photographer, has an adorable little boy, and she does some very adorable, creative blog posts.

Darlene, I totally love the beadboard. Think of how versatile it will be! I hope you will keep us "posted" on your decision!
option "A" ties, the whole room together, should be easier to install to.
Hi Darlene, you are too cute, thank you! I think bringing the color down with the beadboard accent and the tile would look fabulous! you can get the tumbled tile at reasonable prices too!! Can't wait to see what you end up doing. Love the color of your kitchen!
Hello. I hope you are well. I love choice A. I think it is beautiful.
I love that idea! I like that the stone is some of the way up, otherwise the beadboard may be a pain to clean up if food gets on it. Beautiful.
I love the stone mixed with the beadboard~it's a fresh breakaway from the norm. Cannot wait to see what you do!!
I vote A. I think it looks fantastic!
I am a huge beadboard FAN...so I would say A

I love Tara's kitchen too, so I vote for painted beadboard with the marble. It will look fabulous, I love that color!
Also wanted to say thanks for your sweet comment on my TCB feature yesterday. I hope you'll visit me again soon! Have a great day.

Hi Darlene,
I like the tumbled marble backsplash by itself but they are all pretty!
Can't wait to see the big reveal.
Have a blessed week.

i say DO IT ALL!!!!
Hello Darlene...
Ohhh my, I'm so sorry that I've been so long at getting over to see you, my friend! Hmmm...I'm probably too late to offer my opinion but here it goes anyway! hehe!!! I love the beadboard with the tumbled marble idea! First of all, it's different...and I like that!!! Secondly, I love how it brings down some of the wall color under the cabinets! And...if you have a light colored countertop that would be especially pretty to bring some of the wall color down to that area!
Well my friend, sending my best wishes for this kitchen project! Have fun!!! I can't to see what you decide...
Warmest wishes,
Chari
Hi Charlene,
Your blog is fun and marvelous. The kitchen is going to be terrific. . .but be careful about Granite counter tops, they could be a hazard to you and your families health. There are many articles on this.
God Bless,
Jan
