It's a Special Day Over at Our Home

It's time to Celebrate!

Throw a Party!

Eat Cake!!

Are you wondering why??

Well,

it's our youngest daughter, Callie's
13th birthday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALLIE!!!!

Do you remember when you turned 13?
I remember being so excited to finally be a "teenager"

Tonight we are celebrating with a family dinner of her favorite...
pizza!

Dessert will be cheesecake with strawberries and chocolate chips...
her special request.

So you know me...I had to decorate!

We decided on a aqua/brown/white crown theme. Not princess...that would be too juvenile. So we call it crown party!

Aubrie, the big sis made these adorable crown sugar cookies for Callie and she helped me with all the decorations

Matching Gift Wrap

Streamers, pearls, garlands oh my!

How do you like the brown jeweled crown I found at Hobby Lobby??
I think it's perfect for the theme!

We added brown feathers around the stems of the glasses.
We even have a special aqua colored drink to put in the glasses.

I wish I would have had brown or silver chargers..oh well.

And here's my sweet baby Callie!
Callie, can I still call you my baby even though your now a TEEN??

We Love You Callie!

Christmas Tablescape

The tree has been transformed from the Thanksgiving tree to a Christmas tree and the table is all set for Christmas. As you can see our colors we use at Christmas are gold, white, bronze, and leopard. Ya know I gotta keep the animal print in the mix to keep it looking not so traditional!

(By the way...we still have animal print ornaments available for sale, just contact me if you want some for your tree) Blog followers will get 10% off!

Go check out all the other tablescapes at Susan's blog-Between Naps On The Porch for the weekly Tablescape Thursdays.

**DON'T FORGET **

Tomorrow is the start of our 2nd Annual Christmas Cookie Recipe Party! We will have it every Friday in December until Christmas. So get to baking and come back tomorrow to post your link to your Christmas cookie blog post.
(I will actually start tonight at 9pm)

Thanksgiving Centerpiece Ideas

Are you hosting Thanksgiving at your home? Do you have your table centerpiece/decor chosen yet? I was going through some photos on my computer that I had saved for inspiration and thought I would share them with all of you. (I do not remember where these photos originated from, so if you know...tell me so I can give that person the credit for the photo)

Here's an easy one, just put acorns in a glass cylinder vase and top with an unscented candle.

How dramatic is this?! Little white pumpkins in a vase with white flowers and branches...beautiful!

This is stunning! Who said you had to put a turkey on the table? This rooster looks perfectly at home on this Thanksgiving table!

Same principal as the white pumpkin tablescape, but done with crabapples and flowering white & red branches.

Phesant Feathers in a Vase...super easy!

Old world style vases with fall colors and fruit, pumpkins on the table

Oh and here's mine...

A Fall Tablescape

I had to participate in Tablescape Thursday today since I just finished my dining table redo (it use to be golden oak). It looks so much better & updated. Click here to see the table before.

So on to the tablescape....I got the glass hurricane candle holder at a garage sale this past weekend for $2. Perfect with pinecones and some Pottery Barn faux acorns as a filler. Oh and the black frame around the centerpiece that was a hideous gold frame that I sprayed black. I actually used the frame last yr for my thanksgiving tablescape as well. Just love the look of the square frame on the table, it's unexpected!

How do you like my wine glasses? I just got those today at the Dollar Store. I love that they are green on top with a clear stem and for $1 each I couldn't pass them up!

The napkin rings I got a few yrs ago at a discount store for around $3. Some have pumpkins on them and some have gourds/squash.

Pumpkin salt & pepper shakers were found last yr at our local flea market for a whole $3. Can you tell after this post that I am a bargain shopper?? LOL! I love finding a bargain...it's the thrill of the hunt!

Have a blessed day!

Independence Day Tablescape

What's red, white, & blue with a touch of gold???? It's my Independence Day Tablescape, of course!

Our 4th of July day will consist of playing on the lake with the party barge and jet ski, coming in around 5pm for Hamburgers on the grill, potato salad, fruit salad, lemonade ice tea, buffalo chicken dip/veggies, and of course my favorite course...dessert! We will have strawberry pie, red, white, & blue trifle, and homemade ice cream...yummy!
After dessert we will go back out on our boat to see the fireworks over the lake. Sounds like a Perfect Day!

Hope you have a great & safe Independence Day as well!!

Darlene
