My Dining Table ReDo

While we were moved out of our home for 7 weeks I took on a project. Our dining room table was that horrible outdated golden (orangy) oak color, so I brought out my trusty spray paint and MinWax Mahogany Gel Stain. I still need to put on a varnish to protect the finish, but for now...here is the before & after.

Before

Lots of sanding

Primed & Painted the Base Black

And Voila.... the After

I want to get a round piece of glass cut to sit on top of the table to protect it. There is a leaf that we use a couple times a yr, but the majority of the time we just keep it how it is.

I want my table to look just like this when she grows up! Actually I was trying to explain my vision for the table to the Mister when I found your blog/post. Now he knows what our table will look like once she is completed. Thanks for the inspiration/instruction.

That table came out great. I have a big oval table with legs like that and I mentioned doing the bottom black and staining the top darker. My hubby always says no way so I will have to show him yours.
