Creative uses for Pinecones

I have an over abundance of pinecones in my yard, so I was searching out some creative ways to use them in my Christmas decorating. Some I found I never even thought of before. Hope you can find some creative inspiration in these photos to do with pinecones that you've never done.

You will need pinecones of varying sizes for this one.
You could do this without the jewels. Just hot glue ribbon on the wide part of the pinecone and hang from a window. Saw this done at the Culinary & Craft House in Branson.

Just one large pinecone in an urn...simple, yet elegant. Spray the pinecone silver or gold or just leave natural.
Keep the kids busy making a pinecone garland!
Love the large pinecones by the hearth!

Pinecones make great ornaments...sprayed gold or silver, dusted with snow or left natural!
How about a pinecone placecard? Perfect for fall or winter!
Don't forget to use pinecones in your centerpieces.
This is the one idea I have not thought of and definitly will do! I have the perfect spot for it!
Branches of pincones to use on top a hutch or sideboard or anywhere for that matter!
Ah, don't forget to jazz up your gift wrapping with some nature!
The only place I've seen huge pinecones like this were in California. I should have gotten some when I lived there. Oh well. All you Californians can do this!

Ok, hope that inspired you all! I'm off to gather my pinecones now!

Don't forget to get your blog posts ready for tomorrow's "Christmas Cookie Recipe Party!"

See you soon!

Christmas Tablescape

The tree has been transformed from the Thanksgiving tree to a Christmas tree and the table is all set for Christmas. As you can see our colors we use at Christmas are gold, white, bronze, and leopard. Ya know I gotta keep the animal print in the mix to keep it looking not so traditional!

(By the way...we still have animal print ornaments available for sale, just contact me if you want some for your tree) Blog followers will get 10% off!

Go check out all the other tablescapes at Susan's blog-Between Naps On The Porch for the weekly Tablescape Thursdays.

**DON'T FORGET **

Tomorrow is the start of our 2nd Annual Christmas Cookie Recipe Party! We will have it every Friday in December until Christmas. So get to baking and come back tomorrow to post your link to your Christmas cookie blog post.
(I will actually start tonight at 9pm)

Decorating for Valentine's Day

Do you decorate your home for Valentine's Day? If so, do you just add a touch of valentine decor or do you go all out for the holiday?

I usually only decorate the table the day or day before Valentine's day. Today I realize it was exactly 1 month until the big day, so I decided to add just a bit of valentine decor. I got the glittery "Love" sign at Hobby Lobby after Christmas for 85% off so it was dirt cheap! I guess it was meant for Christmas, but it screams Valentine's Day to me!! Last year I got a bunch of plastic red hearts from the place my daughter works for $1. You should see how many hearts I have!! They used them as display/decor in the store she works at and they were getting rid of display & decor. I also had a piece of heart fabric that I had bought a few yrs ago that I brought out that I used as a runner. I'm not crazy about the burgundy color vase holding the orchid but for now it will have to do. I think one of these heart shaped topiaries would look pretty stunning! Found these at Overstock.

I actually bought one of these for hubby for valentine's day years ago...but I killed it. I don't have much of a green thumb!

Oh and check these out! I Love these LOVE pillows! I found them here Not sure if they are sold in the US, but if not I'm sure some of you talented women can recreate these!!

I will be sharing a great Valentine's craft for you later this week...so come back & make a great decor item with me!

Oh and please enter my GIVEAWAY here.
