A Valentine Tablescape

I just set the table for Valentine's Day. I just used things that I already had. Nothing new was purchased. Although I had my eye on some black & white damask dessert plates that I wanted at TJ Maxx. I think they would have looked Fab on the gold rimmed china...oh well, I'm trying not to buy things that we don't need. In fact, instead of going out to eat for Valentine's Day...I'll just make a special dinner and dessert. It's all about creating a special memory for your loved ones and it doesn't have to cost alot to do that! So look around your house and see what you can do to create a pretty Valentine's table and creating a lasting memory for your loved ones.

By the way the red hearts are plastic. They were used as store decoration at my daughter's work and they sold them all to me for $1. You could use conversation hearts, hersey's kisses, faux red rose petals, red jelly beans...etc..

The heart runner was just some fabric I bought at wal-mart a few years ago.

The napkins were tied with red ribbon.

Oh, and that glittery "Love" sign I found at Hibby Lobby after Christmas for 85% off!

Now I have to go finish planning the Valentine's day meal.

What are you doing for Valentine's day?

I'm with you....this year it's all about not spending on things I don't need. I think I know which Damask plates you are talking about...they are REALLY cute, but they are a WANT to me, not a need; so I don't own them either! LOL!!!

I don't have a male valentine this year so my friend and I are traveling to visit her parents. I'm bringing them cards and candy because it's about people you love, whether it be a romantic love or just plain LOVE! :)

This is beautiful Darlene. I don't remember the last time we went out for a special dinner on Valentines, preferring to have a nice dinner at home.

Very pretty. I have the hardest time with my center piece on my table. I am trying to think how to change it but I just can't get it right. I have a pretty vase on there now but it is tall and just seems to swallow the flowers that I have in it at the moment. Anyway, I am doing the same thing you are for Vday, cooking yummy crab cakes and making a choc fondue for dessert. I hope you have an enjoyable VDay!

Hello! I really like the centerpiece you put together with the frame? on the table. Fun. I do not like to fight the crowds for Valentine's Day out. We generally enjoy a meal in too :0)

i'm with you, i'm going to use what i have! I did buy some valentines paper napkins tonight.

We are also staying home and making a romantic dinner. We went and priced things tonight and its going to be a small prime rib roast and crab legs. Chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. I'm going to decorate the table nice, light a fire, have romantic music on and then I bought a romantic movie to watch..one we havent seen!

Your table looks really pretty! Love the hearts around the candle.

This is the first year in 15 yrs. I haven't worked at a florist, so we are going out this year. I've always been to tired in the past. A romantic dinner at home sounds great too! Have a happy Valentine's day! Kristen

Great table..love that china!

We too are staying home & cooking but then, we always do. Hubby & I really enjoy hanging out & cooking so we almost always celebrate holidays privately @ home.
