Layers of Love

Just wanted to say a BIG "THANK YOU" for all the anniversary wishes and nice comments (compliments) we received!!! I showed hubby the anniversary post when he woke me up yesterday morning before he left for work and he LOVED it! He said it brought tears to his eyes!! It shows the most meaningful gifts don't cost a dime...just some time!

While he was at work, I went to the mall to find a new outfit for him & I to wear to our anniversary dinner. Well, I got him 2 shirts that go together, but I didn't find anything for me . That's ok...I have plenty in my closet.

When he got home from work we went to a Japanese SteakHouse called, "Osaka" that we have never been to. It was FANTASTIC! It's the kind where they throw knives in the air and cook in front of you on a hibachi. It was fun! The food portions were HUGE, but I managed to eat almost all of it! I was so full when we left! We planned to go for dessert somewhere else afterwards, but neither of us had any room left for dessert, so we came home to watch a romantic movie, called "Always". We started watching it and realized we had already seen it. Oh well, we continued watching anyway...till we both kept dozing off...so we turned it off and called it a night at 9:30pm and just went to bed. Can ya tell we are not party animals??!!

The fire was much bigger, but by the time I got the camera to work it was this size.

He's making us fried rice...yum!
A nice lady took this of us on our way out of the restaurant for our anniversary scrapbook.

So........... since we missed dessert last night (in more ways than one...haha!) I decided that I was going to make a dessert I found called, "Layers of Love Chocolate Brownies". Doesn't this dessert sound fitting for a 21st anniversary?! Think about all the layers (years) of our love...AWE!!

Oh My Goodness..doesn't this look AMAZING?!!!

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3 large eggs, divided
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

COMBINE flour, cocoa and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add 2 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract; mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Reserve 3/4 cup batter. Spread remaining batter into prepared baking pan. Sprinkle nuts and white morsels over batter. Drizzle caramel topping over top. Beat remaining egg and reserved batter in same large bowl until light in color. Stir in semi-sweet morsels. Spread evenly over caramel topping.

I need one of those brownies now!

I am so glad your dinner was so fun. One of the things Bob and I recently did together was to list out all our great food experiences. A Japanese steakhouse made our list!

Thanks for stopping by the other day. I have a Canon Rebel xsi. I'm growing into it and have lots to learn. I'm becoming more comfortable with it the more I practice. I've followed many of the suggestions that have been offered to me through family, firends and blogs. When I first started using it, I was ready to return it ~ so overwhelming! However, I am glad we made the purchase. I hope this helps a little with your decision.

What a wonderful evening ~ we recently visited a hibachi grill with friends of ours ~ lots of fun!

Those brownies look amazing! I could go for one right now with a cup of coffee :)

Enjoy your weekend,
Jo
