Shopping Adventure

Saturday morning hubby and I woke up early so decided to go to a few garage sales. He was in need of a new blower for all the fallen leaves and pine needles around here. We found 2 blowers. One lady wanted $30 for it but hubby said it wasn't powerful enough so he passed on it. The next garage sale he found a better one for $10, he offered $8 and got it! Yeah, that saved us at least $70 from having to go buy a brand new blower! We went on to a few more garage sales but didn't find anything else we had to have. When we returned home our 20 yr old & 11 yr old daughters were awake and wanting to go to Petco to see the animals. You see a non-profit animal rescue called Paws & Claws have animals up for adoption every saturday at our local Petco. I agreed to go but made it clear that we were just going to look...we were NOT, I repeat NOT going to get an animal!! We have a 13 yr old dog and that was enough!! Well, I don't know what happened but this is what came home with us.
Actually, it's all my fault! This cat was so friendly and it reminded me of our previous cat that died last January from being hit by a car. The girls actually didn't even ask me to adopt the cat...it was all my doing. I think that cat tugged at my heart strings?! The lady told us that she saw a car open the door and drop off the cat at the last shopping center they (Paws & Claws) were at. How could someone do that to such a sweet kitty? This cat is so sweet and loving! So she is the newest member of our family. Our dog Shelby was even happy to meet that cat, unfortunately the cat wasn't so happy to meet the dog. Hopefully soon they will become friends! The girls named her Lola, she is about 1 1/2 yrs old.

Ok so no more trips to Petco on saturdays for me!!!!

Hi Darlene, I'm a new blogger and thought I would say Hello after reading your comment on Susan's blog about Lola. You are so kind for taking her home. She is beautiful and looks very happy to be with a loving family. I'm a huge animal lover as well! :)
Come and visit if you have time. You're always welcome! ~Warmly, Melissa

Darlene,

You are so cute.:) How could you resist a sweet little kitty face like that? Our older (13yr. old Lab) and naughty Kitty get along fine, and I'm sure that yours will, too.

Congrats on your new kitty! Two years ago we went to the local animal shelter to just LOOK at puppies. My husband and the kids found TWO and couldn't decide between the two of them. Guess what? We have TWO dogs now. :-)
