Happy Birthday Daughter!

Today is my daughter's birthday! She is 20 years old! I can't believe how fast that time has gone! She was born with a hole in her heart...ASD(atrial septal defect). Her pediatrician found the heart defect at her 9 month checkup. I remember that day so clearly & can say I was devastated to say the least! I cried all the way home! When she was 23 months old she had open heart surgery to repair her heart & happy to say it was a success!!! Thank God for the awesome doctors & we thanks God for her!

If you've been reading my blog you know that we redecorated her bedroom for her birthday as a surprise. We gave it to her about 1 week ago and she was thrilled with it! Since we in the custom rug business, we couldn't leave her room without a custom rug...so just gave her the rug yesterday. It is nothing real fancy as we didn't want it to compete with the bedding. Instead we made it to resemble a seagrass rug with an aqua shag border. It would look so awesome on some hardwood floors, but for now it has to be on the carpet.

You have a gorgeous daughter...I know you are so thankful for her! What a blessing our children are to us! :-) Your blog caught my eye because I was born with an ASD and pulmonic stenosis...that was in 1957. Back then they didn't do surgery until you were a good bit older, so I was 10 when I had my surgery (1967). I am doing super great...no limitations and I'm 51 years old now. The miracle of modern medicine. :-) Susan
