About a week ago I showed you some tall intricately carved candleholders I bought at a garage sale for $4. Well I painted them cream, then applied a glaze to pick up the carved areas. Although I liked it, made it look old world, I decided that since I wasn't positive where I was going to use them that I would just paint them a solid cream color. This is how they turned out.
The intricate frame I bought for $3 I ended up painting black. I had many suggestions to make it a chalk board, but since I already have a custom made chalk board & it was only a small 8X10, I have decided to have a mirror cut for it. Think I'll use it to put candles on and the mirror will reflect the glow of the candles. May even add some small round balls to the underside as legs. Anyway, here it is painted black.
Now to change the subject. On monday I mentioned that we were going to throw a "Fall Camp Out Party" for my daughter & her friends. Well here are the sleeping bag invitations we made.
Today I need to go buy some hay bales, indian corn & some mums. Also need to bake some sugar cookies in the shapes of fall leaves & pumpkins. Still looking for a fub fall type outdoor game...any ideas??

okay...first of all...your friend's stuff is super cute!! thanks so much for sharing! and i LOVE the sleeping bag invitations!!!
Those garage sale finds are so great! I really love your idea for the frame. It will be perfect.
NOt sure about the girls ages, but here are some ideas that you can go off of:
-hot potatoe with a mini pumpkin
-get some halloween face make-up, divide into pairs, have a contest to see who can make the best jack-o-lantern face on their partner.
-an obstacle course with hay bales, passing mini pumpkins with their chins, etc. Hope that gives you some ideas.
Did you see my halloween "candy Bar"? That would be perfect for a fall slumber party. Have fun!

Both projects turned out cute but those cards are the real hit! The girls will just love those!
What a fun party idea! Those invitations are great!! I've seen a beanbag toss made from plywood cut into a pumpkin or candy corn shape -- very cute, and could be used every year! A scavenger hunt with the girls finding fall/camping items might be fun.
CUTE!! I have been looking for something just like those!
Your candle holders turned out lovely. You could also add cork to the back of that black frame for a little cork board to place the side door for reminders.
By the way, I am also a McCain/Palin supporter!!! And GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!
Blessings,
Sher
Your candle sticks turn out beautifully!
Ok now....these bargains that you find are amazing ! I can't think of any games at the moment...I love roasted marshmallows over an open fire in the fall, though....
