My First Pink Saturday

I decided to participate in my first Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet The Sound

So looking through my pics that I have on the computer I found quite a few photos of pink things. These are all custom rugs we made. Hot Pink is our biggest seller! I guess there are alot of pink lovers out there!

This is a fun rug that I want to make as soon as we get a spare moment!

Hope you enjoyed the PINK Tour!

A Refrigerator and Cabinet Toe Kicks

Work is progressing on our kitchen. Our new refrigerator arrived yesterday...isn't she pretty!

Today I am going to be painting the toe kick area of the cabinets. (see the very bottom of the cabinet that is still golden oak) Most people would have just painted it the same color as the cabinets..but I've got to be different. I want to make the standard Kraftmade Cabinets appear more like furniture or at least like custom cabinets. So I'm painting the toe kick area black and then will add legs painted cream to match the cabinets.

This is the look I'm going for. Isn't this a GORGEOUS kitchen?!!! My kitchen makeover won't look that amazing, but it sure will look better and more up to date than it did!!

Well I better get to work. I'll show you how it looks when I get it done.

Have a Great Day!

Metamorphosis Of My Garage Sale Find

In my previous post today I showed you what treasures I found this weekend while garage sale-ing.

Well now, it's time to show you how I transformed one of the items.

Hubby & I bought this pretty painting/frame at a garage sale for $2. I didn't want the painting so I'm giving it to my sister in law. It fits her decor better than mine. I wanted the frame for a special project for my kitchen.

This is how it looks after some creamy paint and a touch of mocha glaze and chalk board paint. Pefect for my kitchen. It even has a ledge for the chalk.

We are not finished with our kitchen yet, but it's coming along! Granite will be installed in 10 days...yippee!! I still need to paint the very bottom base of the cabinets (the part that is still golden oak). Trying to decide if I should paint them cream or black to make the base disappear visually. Then hubby will add legs for a furniture look. What do you think...paint it cream or black??

Garage Sale Treasures

Rhoda from Southern Hospitality is hosting another "Thrifty Treasures" linky party, so go by and check out what everyone else found this weekend while out thrift shopping & garage saleing.
Hubby and I left the house saturday morning bright and early at 6:30am on saturday to go to a few garage sales.
At our first stop I spotted this woven basket. I loved the shape & mix of colors. I think it would look great with seashells in it, rolled up washcloths, or for even a bread basket. For $1 I couldn't pass it up.

Then at our last stop for the day I bought this pottery set of 2 goblets and pitcher. I'm not sure where I'll use them, but for $2 I figured I would buy it and figure it out later.

At the same garage sale I found this great oil painting and frame. I really just wanted the frame. Although I think the painting is very nice...it just doesn't fit my decor. Oh and the whole thing was only $2.

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you what I did with the frame. UPDATE: Click Here to see the frame metamorphosis.

Hope you found some great treasures this past weekend too!

Sweet Nursery

We just love when we receive photos from our clients after they've received the custom rug from us! It allows us to see the rug we made in the room in which it was intended. We Love That!

We recently worked with a client to make a pastel pink rug with a brown initial "M" inlay. It came out really cute, but looks even better in the room after it's all decorated. So adorable!

Baby Maddie is sure lucky to have such a beautiful nursery!!

Let us know if you would like a custom rug of your own!

If you can imagine it...we can create it!
