Garage Sale Furniture Makeover

During the summer I shared with you something my daughter bought at a garage sale for her apartment for when she moves out next May. May is when she finished her RN degree so she has been stocking up on stuff for her apartment.

So to recap...this is what she bought and how it looked BEFORE.

Then she painstakingly sanded and sanded, then sanded some more. Then primed it, and painted it.

She chose this stunning aqua & cream waverly fabric to cover the cushion in....but she got busy and never called the upholsterer to do it. Yeah, I know it's probably an easy upholstery job...but we don't sew.

So for her birthday I decided to have it done for her.

Today was her 22nd birthday...so her completed garage sale stool was unveiled today.

And.....She LOVED it!

Happy 22nd Birthday my sweet daughter! Your stool will look fabulous in your new place when you leave the nest!!

The Magic of Paint

Do you remember that wood pedestal bowl thinky I bought at a garage sale last weekend?
Well, here is a reminder of it. I love the lines of it, but didn't care for the wood color. So what's a girl to do?? Bring out the Magic, of course!

And by Magic I mean "Heirloom White" spray paint!

Taaaa-Daaaa

Funny, now that my daughter saw it painted she decided that she wants it for her future new home. I told her that I'll think about it. LOL
Turns out quite a few people have this pedestal thingy...I've seen it throughout blogland.

I also wanted to let you all know that I will not be able to post as often as I did last year. I'm sure you noticed that my blog posts this year have not been as frequent as last year. The reason is our business - Creative Carpet Design is really growing...by leaps & bounds! This is what is keeping me busy...and that's a great busy!
Creative Carpet Design is now on Twitter so if you would like to follow...just click on the button below.
Thanks!
