He put a stackable washer/dryer in a hall way...but it's right next to the kitchen so the washer/dryer ends up being by the refrigerator..ARGH!
I have told my husband for the past 19 yrs that I wanted a door to cover the washer/dryer...but it never happened because we couldn't find a door that would work for the size of the opening.
Well now that our 19 yr old stackable washer/dryer stopped working we bought new front loading washer/dryer that we can stack. Although it will be shiny and new I still want it covered! I told hubby I wanted some doors with some interest/texture...so we found a set of bifold shutter doors at Habitat for Humanity last week for a whopping $10...Woo Hoo!
So now here is where I need your opinion.
1.) Should I keep the doors the color they are??
2.)Should I paint them cream to match the kitchen cabinets??
3.) Should I stain or paint them to match the baskets which are above the fridge??
They are not mounted or framed out yet...but you get the idea.

They actually look kinda pretty the way that they are, but if it were me, I would probably go for a more uniform look and paint them to match the other doors in the house. It looks like there is a door around the corner that is white, so I would paint it to match that. :-) Have a wonderful weekend!
Seeing the photos, with the door and woodwork, I would paint the bi-fold doors to match the woodwork.
We are working on a project for the condo, using bifold doors in a completely different application than they were intended.:-)
Happy Weekend!
Hello, Just dropping by but I think I'd paint them the same color as the rest of the doors in the house or the color of your cabinets. :)
I would paint them cream to go with your cabinets. I'd love to have my machine by the kitchen. I have to go to the basement to do laundry.
I would stain them to match the baskets (because I like that color of stain) But I would not paint them to match your cabinets... because it doesn't look like it would match the white door in your hallway. Good Luck!

I think I would stain them to match the baskets. I almost shock myself saying that because I *love* all things white/cream. But I think these would look really pop if they matched the baskets. Plus, it would be easy later to paint them if you decide to do that, but harder to go to stain once you paint.
Not sure if that last sentence makes much sense. It's nap time and my brain isn't functioning! ;)
I would paint them the same color as the cabinets. I love those kind of doors. I know what you mean about things that make you go hmmmm. lol Nothing in my little house is level...when I go to hang a picture, I sometimes have to hang it a little crooked to make it look straight. :)
To match the kitchen cabinets!!
Great find, those doors will look perfect there. I think they would look nice painted cream to match the cabinets. :-)
I like the doors and think you should paint them the color of your kitchen cabinets to blend them end more. They kind of draw too much attn the way they are now and I think would painted basket color as well.
I'd go with white to match your trim and other interior doors. :)
I think painting them to match the kitchen cabinets would look great! Hope it works out the way you want it to!
My humble opinion is that as they are in the sight-line of the cream kitchen doors and the cream one in the hall(?) they would look good painted cream to match.
Have a great Sunday. xx
I just popped over from Kristen's to wish you a happy Sunday...and peek around your site;)!
I think I would paint them cream to match your cabinets...it is so hard to decide sometimes...isn't it! Can't wait to see what you do!
Enjoy!
Cathy
I would probably paint them the color of the cabinets! Enjoy your new machines!
I would paint them the same color as the other doors in your house, so they blend in rather than stand out. JMHO
Hi Darlene,
I have been away from blogging enjoying the summer, hope you are too !!!
I would paint them to match your other doors, so things would be uniform :)
All the best,
Kathy :)
I would definitely stain them to match the baskets. It would really make them stand out.
Just stumbled upon your blog (the yard sale finds...wow!!!) but felt compelled to throw in my two cents worth. I'd definitely paint them to match the trim/doors, which appears to be white. They will "recede" and not be so obvious, as they are when they're dark. Right now, they "fight" with your refrigerator.
Have you already completed this project, by chance???
