Calling all you East Coast Girls or You that are very famillar with the East Coast

Still working on vacation plans...UGH!!! I'm now thinking about flying to Savannah, GA renting a car and traveling up the coast. Thought it would be nice to start in Savannah (never been there and heard it was a charming town) We could go eat at Paula Dean's restaurant, then maybe go to Tybee Island. Then maybe Hilton Head and/or Myrtle Beach,SC the travel on to North Carolina. Stopping where ever we want and staying a day or two before moving on. I have never done this type of vacation and wonder how it would turn out. I also really don't know if there is enough for us 4 to do or see or if the girls will just be saying how bored they are.

So please, tell me does this sound like a good plan?

What are some must see & do's on the east coast (GA,SC, NC)

Hubby was born in Fayetteville, NC but moved to CA when he was a baby so he would really like to visit the state he was born in. I know Fayetteville is not along the coast, but maybe just being in NC will make him happy?!

Thanks for your help!!

Can you help me??

Hi Friends!

I need your Help...again!

I still have not had any success planning a summer family vacation. We go on vacation every summer and always have it planned way before June, so I am way behind this year!

I have enough amex points to fly our family of 4 for free roundtrip anywhere in the US (we don't have passports)...but where shall we go?? Oh I already tried to plan on going to Hawaii, but unfortunately I do not have enough points to fly there. Any other ideas?

Here is a list of our past vacations

2001-western caribbean cruise
2002-eastern caribbean cruise
2003- south padre island, tx
2004- seattle, wa
2005- san diego, ca
2006- destin, fl
2007- destin, fl
2008- panama city beach, fl
2009- ????????

We need some place that will be fun for our daughter's ages 12 & 20 as well as for us 40 something parents. We have vetoed the Disney World idea I had a few weeks ago because so many of you said it would be miserably hot.
Any suggestions?????

I Need You To Help Me Decide!

Hubby and I started grouting the backsplash this weekend and found some outlet covers that I liked...that is until our 20 yr old daughter came home and when I asked how she liked the outlet covers...she said, "She hated them". Wow, hate is such a strong word! Tell me how you really feel Aubrie! LOL
So I told hubby to pick up the lighter outlet cover when he went to Lowes so that I can compare them.

Now, I like both of them, so I need your help choosing which color looks better.

#2

UPDATE 6/9/09: Thank you all for your help! The lighter switch cover #2 was the overwhelming WINNER!!

Thanks for your opinions!

Garage Sales & Met Monday

Today's I am participating in 2 linky parties! Wow, I've been partying alot lately! LOL! Rhoda from Southern Hospitality is hosting another Today's Thrifting Treasures & Susan from Between Naps on the Porch is hosting another Metamorphasis Monday

I woke up my hubby saturday morning at 6am and asked him to go to a few garage sales with me. I kinda felt bad for not letting him sleep in...but I figured he would want to spend some quality time with me hunting for treasures. I was right, he agreed to go with me.

Unfortunately after going to 6 g-sales we came home empty handed. :(

All we saw out there was junk that we didn't want or need. So I am going to show you something I got at a garage sale last fall. I posted it on my blog but since there are so many new followers...many of you probably haven't seen it.

I am a sucker for candle holders and found these huge wood candleholders for $2 each.

I didn't like the green/gold color so I got out my handy dandy spray paint and Voila!

They were a little too perfect and shiny looking so I distressed them a bit with some sandpaper....awe, much better!

Thanks for visiting!!

Favorite Paint Colors

I’m joining Melissa over at 320 Sycamore for a paint party today, so I’ll show you a few paint colors I have in my home...the ones I can identify at least. I now only use Sherwin Williams paint, but before I discovered Sherwin Williams I used paint mainly from Lowes or had it custom mixed at Lowes so I don't have names for those paint colors.

If you are looking for a great fresh lime green....how about Sherwin Williams Sassy Green? That is the color Callie chose for her bedroom. I think it looks great! Not too bright, just right!

Now my 20 yr old daughter, Aubrie wanted a serene grey on her walls, so she chose Sherwin Williams Gray Screen. Her room is very calming...just what she wanted.

When I tore down my wallpaper in my kitchen I thought, hmmm...what color should I paint the walls. Well the best way to get a good flow from room to room is to use colors from the attached rooms. So my living room/dining room is attached to my kitchen so I pulled in the sage green from my sofa and chose Sherwin Williams Clary Sage.
